Purple Ball Boat Ride - July 2006

Moonlight Cruise Boat Ride Highlights

What can I say about the Kingston College High School, Sportsmen of the 80’s First annual boat ride… It was a “Blast”. The night time temperature was perfect for a late night “Moonlight Cruise”. I arrived after 11pm, to find Paul White and a crew of old boys had arrived early to stock the boat with lots delicious Jamaican style food and refreshments. I quickly bailed out of my cab and began to help load the vessel. I quickly began recognize some of the faces of classmate going back twenty year. Morgan, you really can’t miss him. De man large! Bonner was also early on the seen.

At first I seemed as if it was only a few of us at the pier, but as I approached the boat I noticed a mass of people waiting to board. I was really impressed at the turn out. Lots of beautiful ladies were on hand and on deck. We decided to delay departure when we found out a K.C. old boy, Dean Street, were on his way in from JFK airport and would arrive here in the next 40mins. Dean had boarded an iron bird from Jamaica that evening to arrive in New York just in time for the boat ride.

It was perfect timing…. Lots of other people were also on there way in from Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Upstate New York. The extra time at the dock gave the people who had bordered, in such an orderly manner, time to taste and digest some of the wonderful Jamaican style food that was available. Man, I tell you that food was hot, and smell, and most of all tasting good. It took no time for the more that 180 people on board to devour what was provided for the buffet.

The bar was no different; a constant bombardment of orders from money wheeling patrons kept the three bartenders, Sang, Mice and Paul White’s brother, busy for the greater part of the night. As the assault on the bar continued, our DJ for the night Chris the Dub Master was just beginning to warm up the crowd that had gathered on the upper deck. The night air was nice, and a gentle wind came up of the waters, setting a calm atmosphere as we pushed of from the docks for a four hour aqua bashment, up and down the river.

Again, I must mention how wonderful the ladies made the night. They were all friendly, warn and energetic. The music was right, the vibes was right, and as you will soon see we all had a “Blast” on the K.C. moonlight cruise.

Sorry for those who wanted to come but could not make it for what ever reason. Here is a slide show of the successful event.

Special thanks to: Paul White, Mice, Bonner, Irvin and Sang. I have so many other names that I wanted to mention but can’t right now. Oh, big up Howard Bell, major baller from K.C. Hope to see you there next year. Fortis for Life. God Bless.
